Emerging Stars Program Details:

  • Nominated companies are judged and ranked by industry veterans, corporate executives and successful entrepreneurs from among TiE's 10,000+ worldwide membership.
  • Nominated companies were chosen from the following categories software, emerging technologies, security, wireless, networking, Internet, semiconductor, healthcare and services.
  • Emerging Stars are private companies with at least $1 million in funding or more than $10 million in revenues.
  • Evaluation areas include management team, market and industry drivers, competitive advantage, market buzz, business model, corporate development and revenues.
  • Management teams are examined for their capacity or proven ability, completeness of team, skills and leadership.
  • A look at market and industry drivers includes an examination of industry growth, category consolidation and broader demand for products or services.
  • Competitive advantage explores barriers to entry, intellectual property and key partnerships.
  • A look at "market buzz identifies category momentum, industry recognition, and customer traction.
  • Corporate development explores the success of their partnerships and channels. Finally, a review of revenues and business model demonstrates whether a company has attractive monetization, a high revenue stream and high growth rates.

Themed "Energizing the Global Entrepreneurial Spiritþ, it will bring together thought leaders, corporate executives, and successful veteran entrepreneurs for two days of learning, discussion, and networking.
